Joy of Giving Benefits JAMLAC
The Bachus and Schanker Cares Foundation hosted its annual Joy of Giving Benefit to raise funds in support of the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic (JAMLAC). The event, held on December 2, 2011 at the offices of Bachus and Schanker drew 120 attendees, which is twice the previous year’s attendance and through a silent auction, raised twenty-five percent more in donations for JAMLAC.
A highlight of the festivities was the opportunity to recognize some of the year’s recipients of JAMLAC services who might otherwise have been unable to arrange legal representation.
Founded in 2006, JAMLAC is a safe and confidential legal resource for individuals and families struggling with poverty who find themselves in need of legal assistance. Utilizing the services of volunteer attorneys, law school students, paralegals and other volunteers from the area, JAMLAC represents the needy of metro Denver in civil and minor criminal matters including family law, bankruptcy, sealing of criminal records, quashing of warrants and other such matters.
JAMLAC is a service of Mile High Ministries, a non-profit organization that has worked to improve the lives of metro Denver’s disadvantaged since 1988.
