Very Experienced Legal Writer – Independent Contract Attorney

Bachus & Schanker, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Very Experienced Legal Writer – Independent Contractor to join its team supporting the firm’s clients. Bachus & Schanker is a growing personal injury law firm with an immediate need for a professional who shares our commitment to provide the firm’s clients with superior support.

This position requires an attorney that will work for our firm on a job-by-job basis as an independent contractor, which means we will present the job to you with a deadline and you will either accept or reject the job. Once you perform work for a case, we keep you on that case until it is resolved. We currently have two writers who perform nearly 100% of their work for the firm and we need a third writer to take on work. You will be paid at an agreed-upon hourly rate on a Net 30 basis, regardless of the case outcome. No court appearances are necessary. You can work remotely from anywhere. If you wish to have an office, we can negotiate that as well.

Pre-Suit Case Manager

Our Case Managers are dedicated to each and every client, helping them through the recovery process and insurance claims process after suffering an injury through no fault of their own. Being involved in a car wreck is an incredibly traumatic event. When clients come to Bachus & Schanker, they are injured, and they are scared. On top of that, they are being bombarded by the insurance companies trying to settle with them for less than the full and fair value of their claim. As a Case Manager, you will work closely with the clients to answer their questions and unload the burden of this complicated and confusing process. As a Case Manager, you will also work closely with the attorneys to put together the strongest case we can in order to get our clients a full and fair outcome.

Key Responsibilities Include
You will be the relationship and trust builder with our clients.
You will regularly communicate with the clients and answer their questions.
You will capture information about your client’s story and what they had to endure as a result of someone else’s negligence.
You will strategize with the attorneys and prepare information for them about your client’s case.
Meeting and exceeding client expectations on the daily (you’re the kind of person who’s proud of your 5-star Uber rating)
Working well under pressure (like the song) — you can rock it out with short deadlines

Litigation Paralegal

Bachus & Schanker, LLC has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Litigation Paralegal to join its team. The firm’s founding goal was to level the playing field between accident victims and large insurance companies, and the firm’s core practice area is still Personal Injury law and we are looking for a Paralegal to join our dynamic Litigation Team who shares our commitment to provide clients and team members with superior support.

Litigation paralegals at Bachus & Schanker, LLC are fully involved in all aspects of their litigation cases, from providing excellent client service to attending trial. Our paralegals are part of a strong team that strives to be the very best. The successful candidate is a paralegal who is energetic, positive with a ‘can do’ attitude, and able to work independently. Skills that support you working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment are absolutely essential.

Responsibilities:
Draft Discovery responses
Trial preparation including preparing notebooks and exhibits
Draft and Serve Discovery Requests for Production and Interrogatories
Manage a caseload of 30 cases at any given time
Experience filing on Colorado Courts E-Filing and CMF/ECF
Extensive contact with clients and attorneys
Familiarity with medical records
Knowledge of the Colorado and Federal Rules of Procedure
Prepare cases for mediations and settlement conferences by reviewing files, obtaining documents, communicating with clients and attorneys
Assist and potentially attend attorney – client meetings
Handle cases from inception through resolution
Gather and analyze information relevant to the case
Extensive review and knowledge of each case
Maintain contact with clients on a consistent basis
Docketing and Calendaring
Organization and maintenance of case files
Have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast pace environment; have great people skills as the position requires a great deal of client contact; be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; have exceptional communication and written skills; have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software

Requirements:
