On Mother’s Day, May 12, 2012, Bachus & Schanker will sponsor the 4th annual Dolls for Daughters Bowl a Thon to be held from 12 pm – 3 pm at Elitch Lanes in Denver. The cost to attend is $20 per person, $10 of which is tax deductible. The event, presented by Jones & Keller, PC, will raise money and collect new toys for the annual Dolls for Daughters’ holiday toy shop. A traveling trophy will be presented to the team raising the highest amount in donations.
In addition to the bowling fun, participant teams of four will receive Pasquini’s pizza, soda and the opportunity to win prizes. Participants are asked to bring new toys to contribute to the toy shop. For each toy given (valued at $10 or more), a participant will receive one additional ticket for the prize drawings. Prizes have been contributed by Cherry Creek Dance, Endstrom Candies, Plum District, Jack and Jill Children’s Salon Cherry Creek North, Santa’s Workshop and the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Dolls for Daughters was founded in 2007 by Jessica Bachus following the stillbirth of her daughter, Kenzi, at 24 weeks. Mrs. Bachus envisioned the organization as a way to provide toys for Colorado children who would not otherwise receive gifts during the holidays. Each year Dolls for Daughters collects more than 4,000 toys for distribution to Colorado’s children. In past years the toys have been distributed through The Gathering Place, Samaritan House, Denver Children’s Home and SafeHouse Denver.
