Steve Schabacker is part of Bachus & Schanker, LLC’s litigation team.

Steve joined Bachus & Schanker, LLC in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced corporate law, mainly defending insurance companies and banks, for eight years. After seeing the effects of insurance denials on individuals with valid claims, he decided to switch sides and represent people rather than companies.

Steve had an unusual path to law school, graduating cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law at age 40. He paid for law school using his Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits, received after eight years of service in the U.S. Navy as a flight officer aboard the mighty P-3C Orion, a patrol and anti-submarine aircraft. He has also worked in logistics with Target Corporation and been self-employed, remodeling old homes in San Antonio, Texas.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his sons in soccer and weightlifting, and taking in all the beauty that Colorado has to offer.
