PARTNER

Kate Bailey is a partner in the Elite Litigation Group at Bachus & Schanker, LLC and is licensed to practice law in Colorado and in Utah. She joined the firm in 2024 after working for over a decade at a prominent Denver law firm, where she focused on defending healthcare professionals and organizations, including a Fortune 500 company based in Denver.

Kate’s passion for trial law began at the age of nine when she read her first John Grisham novel, sparking a lifelong dedication to the profession. With 15 civil jury trials under her belt, she has built a reputation for handling high-stakes cases in both federal and state courts nationwide. Kate is known for her ability to connect with jurors by telling her clients’ stories in a compelling and relatable way. Her clients know that her advocacy goes beyond the facts to capture the heart of their cases.

In addition to her extensive trial experience, Kate has taken and defended over 100 fact and expert depositions, drafted and argued dozens of dispositive motions and appellate briefs at both the state and federal level, and negotiated countless favorable resolutions for her clients. Kate’s prior experience with representing defendants in civil cases provides her with valuable insights into how insurance companies and large businesses operate, giving her a strategic advantage in securing the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Now, Kate is proud to advocate for those who have been victimized through no fault of their own, with a particular focus on representing survivors of sexual assault and families who have lost loved ones due to others’ reckless actions. Having experienced profound loss herself—including the senseless death of her mother at eighteen—Kate deeply understands the grief, loss of control, and injustice her clients face. Her experiences fuel her relentless dedication to providing both compassionate support and fierce, unwavering representation. She is committed to amplifying survivors’ voices, ensuring they are heard, respected, and empowered in their pursuit of justice, answers, and accountability.

Kate has received many accolades from her peers, including being named to Colorado’s Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and being recognized by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.

Outside of her legal work, Kate is deeply involved in the community, serving as a coach for Colorado State University’s Mock Trial team. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Olive.
