Boulder Wildfire Insurance

The Fourmile Canyon wildfire in Boulder, CO sparked Monday, September 6th. Authorities believe that the fire may have been caused by a fire pit. The owner doused the pit with water but strong winds stirred the ashes and reignited the embers which blew out of the pit starting one of the worst wildfires in Colorado's history. 3,500 residents were forced to evacuate and 169 homes have been destroyed.
Many homeowners pay their insurance premiums each year for peace of mind. Unfortunately, large insurance companies often look out for their own bottom line, and not your family's best interest so it is important to understand your rights.
Understand Colorado Insurance Claim Law
In Colorado, insurance companies are required to promptly investigate claims, promptly pay claims, communicate regularly regarding the status of a claim, and provide a prompt and reasonable explanation for any claim denial.
If you suspect that your insurance company has not lived up to its promises, you may have an insurance bad faith claim. As a consumer, you may be eligible for up to three times the amount of insurance benefits owed to you.
