Colorado Families in Need Receive SHARE Baskets
The Bachus & Schanker, LLC Cares Foundation was proud to partner with the SHARE Basket Project for the second year in a row to provide food for needy families in the community during the holiday season.
In addition to a financial contribution, Bachus & Schanker, LLC supplied volunteers to help pack gift baskets full of food to distribute to families in the Colorado community. Nearly 300 families received a large laundry basket overflowing with groceries, two paper sacks of additional food and non-food items including a new pair of winter gloves and a disposable roasting pan. The SHARE project also gave more than 4,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank of the Rockies and to four food closets at local schools and houses of worship.
The SHARE Basket Project began in 1988 and has helped nearly 5,000 families to have food over the holiday season. The project is run with zero overhead expenses so every penny that is contributed goes directly to purchasing food for families in need. The project is run by Barbara Fruitman who was recognized as a 7 Everyday Hero for her efforts for so many years.
The Bachus & Schanker, LLC Cares Foundation strives to help those affected by life changing tragedies and we understand that the holiday season can be particularly challenging for those families.
