Brake Failure and Tractor Trailer Accidents
In 2008, large commercial trucks accounted for 4% of registered vehicles, and 8% of all miles travelled in the US. However, 11% of fatal motor vehicle crashes involved large trucks. One of the leading causes of semi truck accidents is brake problems. 29% of truck drivers reported brakes as being a factor in their crashes.
