Bachus & Schanker Cares Foundation Featured Partner: Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver
Every month, Bachus & Schanker and our Cares Foundation will feature a nonprofit partner we support in its mission to improve local communities and bring people together for the greater good.
This month’s featured partner is the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver (HBF). Established in 1993, HBF provides accessibility solutions and home modifications for disabled individuals in financial need by collaborating with the building industry.
In 2014, HBF brought independence to many of its recipients by completing 80 projects, significantly more than 2013. Every $1 the HBF awarded toward a project resulted in $10 of retail value, double the value of the previous year. Additionally, HBF reduced the turnaround time from application to completed work, which put more individuals in need of accessible home modifications, faster.
Last August, Bachus & Schanker worked with the HBF on its annual three-day building event, Blitz Build, which brought together volunteers, builders and contractors to build ramps and provide accessibility solutions at no cost for disabled individuals in financial need. In addition to sponsoring the Fourth Annual Blitz Build, members of our Cares Foundation joined other volunteers to build 16 ramps that spanned a combined 3 miles. One ramp recipient was a woman who had been paralyzed by a gunshot wound.
We also participated in HBF’s Pucks for Possibilities and Clubs for a Cause Golf Tournament fundraising events.
In 2015, our firm intends to support similar goals for HBF and complete more projects faster to bring independence home.
It is our honor to partner with nonprofits like the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver. It is through these partnerships that the Bachus & Schanker Cares Foundation is able to promote positive community changes and help our neighbors in need.
