Team Bachus to walk for March of Dimes on Saturday, April 26, 2008

The March of Dimes is holding their annual fundraising event, "March for Babies", on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Civic Center Park, at 14th & Broadway in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death in the first month of life. It affects half a million babies a year in the United States and those who survive may have life-long health problems. And premature births are on the rise -- up to 30% since 1981 with 1 in 33 babies in the United States born each year with birth defects.

This year our goal is to raise $5,000. The March of Dimes needs your help to continue their research to ensure all babies are born healthy. Your participation or donation will help fund research right here in Colorado.

Your support helps fund:
-Research into stress and other factors that may trigger preterm labor
-Programs to educate pregnant women to recognize the warning signs of preterm labor
-Tools to help health care providers find better ways to detect women who may be at risk for preterm labor

Your donation can make a difference in the lives of babies already born and those yet to be born!
