Schanker speaks on jury selection at APITLA national conference
Voir Dire expert shares his process with peers at the annual National Interstate Trucking Conference in St. Louis, Missouri
Voir Dire: A mini-hearing held during a trial to question prospective jurors about their backgrounds and potential biases before selecting them to sit on a jury, or evaluate the admissibility of contested evidence.
In June, Bachus & Schanker, LLC Co-founder Darin Schanker presented on jury selection, or Voir Dire, to 106 attendees from 27 states at the eighth annual Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America’s national conference. He addressed the room of trial lawyers by framing the steps he has developed over the years to extract courtroom bias and uphold the right to a fair trial as intended by Voir Dire.
As a plaintiff firm, Bachus & Schanker, LLC specializes in Voir Dire. Since the law firm opened in 1996, Schanker has redefined the dynamic legal process through jury selection. Considered an expert on jury selection, Schanker selects nearly 80 percent of the juries for the cases the firm handles. He also teaches his process to partners and associates in a mock-trial setting, a practice used by few firms across the country to effectively bring each case to trial.
