Colorado Leukemia Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk
On Thursday, September 22nd, the staff of Bachus & Schanker and the attorneys of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) gathered to participate in the Light the Night walk to benefit The Colorado Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
Founding partners J. Kyle Bachus and Darin Schanker first became involved with Light the Night in 2008 to support fellow attorney Dan Patterson, former president of CTLA and other in their fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. Dan Patterson was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and continues not only his fight with cancer, but also the fight to help other families that are experiencing some of the same challenges.
This will be Dan's 5th year participating. Since 2006 Attorney Patterson and his friends and family have raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. The society funds vital lifesaving research, patient information and support programs.
Light the Night is the largest fundraising event of the year for the organization and takes place in cities across the nation. In addition, it is a night to pay tribute to loved ones and support those battling cancer. The even also includes music, food and family activities. In each walk, balloons are illuminated - white for survivors, red for supporters, gold in memory of a life lost.
