December Project – Dolls for Daughters – UPDATE
This Holiday season, Bachus & Schanker, LLC helped in collecting new, unwrapped baby dolls which were donated to local Denver charities. The area charities include Samaritan House, Family Tree, The Gathering Place and Family to Family. The dolls were given to young girls who otherwise may not receive a present during the Holiday season.
Between Bachus & Schanker, LLC family, friends, the community and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, we collected between 150-200 dolls to give to the community.
This project has a special connection to our firm and founding partner, Kyle Bachus. His wife, Jessica Bachus, launched Dolls for Daughters in 2007 after the loss of their daughter, Kenzi. It was Jessica, Kyle and their 3-year-old daughter, Bailey’s wish to provide these special gifts to young girls in honor of their daughter’s memory.
On December 22, Jessica, Kyle and Bailey took about 60 dolls to a Toy Giveaway sponsored by the following organizations: East Denver Collaborative, The Prodigal Son Initiative, Inc., Denver Children’s Home and Boy Scouts of America. Kyle volunteered by handing out toys for three hours to families who attended the event.
“I am so excited that Dolls for Daughters has been able to collect so many dolls this first year! I hope to have your continued support in the years to come as Dolls for Daughters becomes a wonderful way to give back and honor Kenzi,” stated Jessica Bachus.
