Holiday Outreach to Needy Colorado Families

2012 SHARE Basket Event

For the third consecutive year, Bachus & Schanker will again partner with the SHARE Basket Project to provide food to needy families in the community this November.

In addition to making a financial contribution to the project, Bachus & Schanker employees will assist in packing gift boxes for distribution. Typically, families receive a large laundry basket overflowing with groceries along with two paper bags filled with additional food and non-food necessities. Last year, the SHARE project also gave more than 4,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank of the Rockies and to four food closets in local schools and religious organizations.

Barbara Fruitman founded the SHARE Basket Project in 1988. Since its inception, the annual drive has benefited more than 5,000 local families. Each year hundreds of volunteers lend a hand, helping the SHARE Basket Project continue its outreach in the community. The program operates with no overhead expense, allowing every dollar contributed to go directly to help those most in need of assistance.
