On Friday night, January 11th, two people were killed as a result of a car crashing into a light pole due to high speed and the car erupting into flames. The crash occurred just west of Belleview on South Kipling Street.
Both the driver, 21-year-old Brady Kraft and the passenger, 23-year-old Steven Senter, were killed.
The vehicle was involved in two crashes, first crashing into a median on Belleview Avenue and then running off the road into the light pole north of West Progress Drive. The Colorado State Patrol stated that they believe alcohol and speed may have been a factor in the fatal crash.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) released a report in November 2007 showing that in the year 2006, there were 177 drunk driving fatalities.
