Denver Authorities helping you to have a safe Holiday

With the Holidays only a short time away, Denver city authorities are reminding the public about the safety of drinking and driving.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is offering $5 cab vouchers for free at local businesses starting December 21st. Participating businesses include: The Celtic Tavern, Cherry Cricket, Delaney’s, Earl’s, Elway’s, Gaetano’s, Goosetown Tavern, Hyatt Regency Convention Center, LoDo’s Bar and Grill, Pearl Street Grill, Rialto Cafe, Rock Bottom Brewery, Wazee Supper Club and the Wynkoop Brewery.

The voucher is good for Metro Taxi, Freedom Cab and Yellow Cab through New Year’s Day.

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is also offering free rides on buses and light rails starting New Year’s Eve at 7pm until 6am the following day.

The Colorado State Patrol reported 475 arrests and 16 deaths statewide during the 2006 Holiday Season.

CDOT gives the following tips to help celebrate your Holiday safely:

– Schedule a taxi or a driver to take you to the party.

– Make sure you eat enough food and drink plenty of water throughout the night.

– Switch to coffee or water at least 90 minutes before leaving a holiday party.

– Always play it safe and don’t drive if you have been drinking.

At Bachus & Schanker, LLC, our attorneys care about your safety during the busy Holiday season. If you or your family are the unfortunate victims of a drunk driving accident, we are here to help. For more information on this topic and our firm, please click here.

Bachus & Schanker, LLC, wishes you a happy and safe Holiday with your friends and family.
